The program consists of improving the reliability and resiliency of the District of Columbia energy grid by placing the selected feeders underground in wards 3,4,5,7,8. The Feeder 308 project is in ward 4. The project improvements encompassed:
-
Installation of Pepco supplied PVC and fiberglass conduits, precast and cast-in-place manholes
-
Installation of precast tapholes, precast transformer enclosures, precast transformer pads
-
Installation of concrete duck bank encasements
-
Removal of existing trees in conflict with overhead lines
-
Cut and repair of roadway pavement, curb, gutter, and sidewalks

Our staff is providing the construction inspection. We are working with Pepco to oversee and provide quality assurance inspection of the work to ensure compliance with the contract drawings, specifications, special provisions and DDOT and Pepco standards. Working with Pepco, DDOT, and contractor, we are resolving issues that create impacts to the installation of the undergrounding duct banks. Working with the CM team, we are supporting the community outreach.
